The vessel

Lafri is a 1987 beneteau Idylle 15.5 sailing boat. Which has been greatly refitted in 2021-2022. Her unique vintage look creates a wonderful vibe of coziness.

Captain: Nikolas Piperas is an actor and an acting instructor. Furthermore he has written and published a fairytale ε, ενα νησι θα’ναι, has recorded two music albums ap’ ti sofita & a song from Vagabondia, and has painted in the past. He has been sailing since 2004. He became a professional skipper in 2016, and a proud boat (Lafri) owner in July 2021.

Co captain: Jennie London is an agriculturalist and sailor. She is curious about bio-cultural connections, asking what connects us to one another, culture and our environment, and is passionate about supporting these relationships whether it be through food, seed or by sea! She joined Aegean Cargo Sailing in 2022 as a sailor and agricultural specialist to support sustainable agriculture, producers and distribution in the Aegean.

Not included in the price: Optional visits to museums and archeological sites, Restaurant meals, Fine dining experience – exclusive tasting tours, Transfer from/to boarding ports. Flight tickets

Cooking, cleaning and shopping will be a shared duty.

The cost for participating in the sailing tours will go towards covering the cost of the boat, the crew and targeted visits in the islands plus subsidizing the transportation cost of small quantities of high quality and low carbon footprint products. Our not for profit organization will reinvest any profits into expanding sustainable agriculture and transport in the islands, supporting local producers to optimize their products and finding markets for them. The legal form chosen does not allow distribution of profits to Aegean Sails SCE member shareholders and it is specifically conceived as a legal social improvement vehicle.
