Carried by Wind, Salt and Patience

PELAGO has just completed the first quarter of its Aegean route — from Lavrio to Limnos — covering roughly 250 nautical miles carrying island products across the Aegean. So far, the voyage has operated entirely powered by wind and 33 kWh of solar energy, including refrigeration for dairy products and cooking onboard. Along the way: — Skopelos dried prunes — Alonnissos tuna — small island goods slowly continue their journey across the Aegean, carried by wind, salt and patience. What is emerging is not only a transport route, but a small demonstration that lower-impact maritime movement between islands may still have a future in the Mediterranean.
