Naturally Kalymnos I Kalymnos
My “riza” (roots) is Kalymnos, says Elias Kampouris, who together with Kalliope Patelli are behind Naturally Kalymnos, a company which is certainly deeply rooted in Kalymnos just like its co-founders.
Naturally Kalymnos is the “face” of Vitae Value Holistics, a company founded on the basis of creating cosmetics and therapeutic products that actually do something and deal with the specific needs they are created for. To achieve it, Mr Kampouris, a herbalist for more than 35 years who also studied traditional medicinal arts along native American tribesmen and Mr Patelli, a pharmacist for more than 35 years, combined Aromatotherapy, Phytotherapy and Homeopathy, 3 well-known healing arts which however, have never been combined before.
Naturally Kalymnos offers a wide variety of natural and holistic body, facial and hair care cosmetics to meet various needs as well as therapeutic products and supplements to address specific issues. However, what makes these products unique is the raw materials and the method of production. All the infusions, extracts and tinctures used for the products are made inhouse. On top of that, the methods used for their production do not include cooking down the raw materials to concentrate them, which is something which would “kill” their desired effects. Characteristic example is their tinctures’ method which last for 3 months instead of the industry standard of two weeks, something which makes a difference like the one between tea and espresso as Mr Kampouris says.
As for the raw materials for the above, they come widely from wild herbs of the island, which Mr Kampouris and Mrs Patelli harvest by hand, always, responsibly, sustainably, and holistically. As a native American saying goes, “you have to give something back for that that you are asking for” and that is exactly what they try to do, leaving the habitats they harvest from better than they found them, as harvesting when done right allows for a growth in plant populations.
