At Aegean Cargo Sailing, our journeys across the Aegean are about more than carrying goods—they are about carrying messages that matter. This season, we are proud to join forces with SealGreece in support of a national campaign to protect the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) and the coastlines they depend on.

The monk seal is one of the rarest marine mammals in the world, and Greece is home to half of its  surviving populations. Protecting them means protecting our shared natural heritage: the caves, coastlines, and crystal waters that define the Aegean.

As part of this campaign, SealGreece has launched an innovative TikTok filter designed to raise awareness among younger generations. With just a swipe, users can engage with interactive knowledge about monk seals—their habitats, the dangers they face, and the steps we can all take to help safeguard them. Social media, in this way, becomes a bridge between everyday life and marine conservation.

For us at Aegean Cargo Sailing, this collaboration is a natural fit. Just as sail cargo represents a sustainable alternative for transporting goods, the campaign emphasizes sustainable coexistence with the marine world. On our voyages, we carry not only products but also the message of respect and responsibility for the environment.

Together with SealGreece, we are charting a course where tradition, innovation, and conservation meet—because the future of the monk seals, and the coastlines they call home, depends on all of us.
